Pain is your body’s way of telling you that something is wrong. Pain can be caused by numerous sources: mechanical dysfunction, inflammation, tissue injury, irritation to nerve roots, etc. Pain may show up years after you (sometimes unknowingly) begin having a problem. The pain location may be an indication of the area of involvement, but often the pain is not felt in the actual problematic area.
